cclectic collections (or vignettes) tell a story about the owner of the collection. They are able to create a high-impact visual for boring corners in any room and it’s a go-to trick for any interior-designer to add some drama. The great thing about these collections is that you can change or re-arrange them whenever the mood strikes. But you can’t just throw them together, you will have to abide to a few key-principles: which item will “anchor” your collection, what is the main texture, what is the dominant color and don’t forget the scale of the objects too.

clectische verzamelingen (of vignettes) vertellen een verhaal over de eigenaar van de verzameling. Ze kunnen een saaie hoek van een kamer veranderen in een visueel juweeltje. Het is ook één van de basis-truucs van elke interior-designer om via zo’n verzameling karakter en “drama” toe te voegen aan een interieur.
Het fijne van zo’n verzameling is dat je heel makkelijk kan veranderen, aanvullen, weghalen, het is maar net hoe je pet staat die dag. Maar je moet je wel aan een aantal basis-principes houden, als je een mooi effect wil. Vraag je af wat je het thema is, welk item de basis van je collectie vormt, stem texturen op elkaar af, stem kleuren op elkaar af en let op de verschillende formaten van je collectie.
