s you probably know, I used to have a 12 acre “garden” in South Africa. Since moving back to Amsterdam, my town garden exists of a mere 30 square metres…. which is bliss! No more fertilising the fields, dealing with farmstaff, worrying about what the weather will do, fixing broken irrigation systems, etc etc. Now, I only have to worry about the amount of sun my potplants will get.

And I have a natural watering system, namely the more than abundant rain falling down from the Dutch skies. Here is a picture of my own garden, followed by some towngardens to aspire to.
